Janina Gumieniak, 93, of Whiting, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Whiting Health Care Center. Born in Poland, she lived in Edison before moving to Whiting in 1980. She was a factory worker for American Can Co., Hillside, NJ, retiring in the 1970's. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Janina was predeceased by her husband, Antoni Gumieniak in 1979, one daughter, Elizabeth Slowineski in 2011; two sons, George Gumieniak in 2008 and Wojcieh Gumieniak and one great-grandson, Joshua Quandt in 1996. She is survived by one daughter, Rosemary O'Donnell of Whiting; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Interment will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, Sept. 12th at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, Doylestown, PA.
