Jeanne Paula (Gaffney) Mooney, 53, of Forked River, passed away on January 27th, 2024. Born in Carteret, she grew up in West Long Branch and Toms River, NJ. Jeanne graduated in 1988 from Toms River North High School and Ocean County Vocational-Technical School. In 1995, Jeanne married her soul mate, Jim Mooney, and they eventually settled in Forked River in 2007 with their three beloved children.Jeanne was a hairdresser for many years, including in the J.C. Penney Salon in Ocean County Mall, before she went to work for the State of NJ. She enjoyed design and home dcor, and she loved the beach.Jeanne is predeceased by her father, Joseph Gaffney, and her brother, Joseph Gaffney, Jr. She is survived by her husband James Mooney of Lacey and their children, Abby Mooney (Larry Lundy) of Long Branch; Anna Mooney of Asbury Park; and Greg Mooney of Lacey. She is also survived by her mother, Jean Gaffney of Toms River; her siblings, Janis Donato of Eatontown; Jill Gaffney (Glenn Rosati) of Highlands; Judi McGee of Whiting; Jackie Durland (Lee) of West Long Branch; JJ Gaffney (Yseli Dilone) of Toms River; and Jeffrey Gaffney (Tracey) of Berlin. She is also survived by her Mooney family: mother-in-law Betty Jacobs of Gardiner, NY; Jan and Jim Oberdick of Middletown; Jack and Kim Mooney of Manchester; Mike and Debbie Mooney of Toms River; Kate and Jim Lake of Kingsland, Georgia; Mike Vill of Toms River; Nancy and Fran Goodman of Manasquan; Joe and Beckie Mooney of Toms River; Bob and Madeline Mooney of Toms River; Mary and Marc Alexander of Gardiner, NY; and Danny Foy of Beachwood.
