Joan M. Maniaci, 83, of the Whiting section of Manchester passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Community Medical Center, Toms River, from injuries sustained in a car accident. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Forked River before settling in Whiting in 2006. Mrs. Maniaci retired from First Union Bank, Middlesex, in 1998 after 18 years service. She was a parishioner of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church, Whiting, where she was a member of the Rosary Society. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, practicing her faith, traveling near and far and watching the NY Mets. Her love and thoughtfulness toward her family and friends will be cherished and remembered into eternity. She was predeceased by her husband, John, in 2004, her son-in-law, Michael Vassallo in 2010, and her brother, Henry Motkowski in 2012. She is survived by her children, Jill Vassallo of Newton, NJ and Jack Maniaci and his wife Lisa of Lanoka Harbor; her sister, Carol Brown; her grandchildren, Nicole Vassallo, Kurt Maniaci, and Brett Maniaci and his wife Danielle; and her great-grandchildren, Giovanni and Mia Maniaci. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday at 9:00am at the All Saints Chapel of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. Interment will follow at Saint Mary Cemetery, Manahawkin.
