Joan Elizabeth Reed, 79, of Whiting passed away om November 15, 2022 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Trenton, she lived there until moving to Crosswicks, NJ with her family when she
was five years old.
One of six children born to the late John and Catherine Reuter, she was a
graduate of Notre Dame High School. Lawrenceville, and later attended Rider College. Joan was employed by the New Jersey State Police NCO Office in Bordentown, NJ for twenty years until retiring in 2010. A
resident of the Cedar Glen Lakes Community in Whiting, she was a member of their quilting and arts & crafts clubs. She was a parishioner of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church, and was a member of the Most Holy Trinity Lay Carmelite Community #3115.
Joan was predeceased by her daughter, Christine Elizabeth Reed, in 2011. She is survived by her siblings, Lawrence Reuter and his wife Marge of Arizona, Maryann Reuter of Arizona, Therese Murray Groome and her husband Roger of Yardley, PA, and John Reuter Jr. and his wife Rebecca of Roosevelt, NJ; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be on Monday from 9-10:30am at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, followed by a 10:45am Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ. Cremation will be private. Previous Events
