John F. Granfield, 78, of Whiting, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2010 at Van Dyke Hospice in Toms River. Born in Springfield, MA, he lived in Clinton Twp., NJ before moving to Whiting in 1999. John was a chemist for Oakite Products, Inc., Berkeley Heights, NJ for 22 years, retiring in 1995. He was a US Army veteran during the Korean War. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. John is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy Reynolds Granfield; one son, William Granfield of Marlboro, NJ; three daughters, Gloria Eppig of Plano, TX, Barbara Granfield of Alexandria, VA and Elizabeth Redd of Millersville, MD and six grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be offered at 10:45 a.m., Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting.
