Obituary

John H. Harvey Sr. of Whiting, NJ passed away peacefully in his home on November 23, 2024. John was born on December 21, 1929 to Harry Harvey and Marian Hart in Conshohocken, PA.

After John graduated from the Gerard School for Boys, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served in Korea and was a part of "The Chosin Few". He attended Rider College following his time with the Marines. He found a career as an editor for both the Asbury Park Press and the Beach Haven Times. He later served as a Public Relations Manager and oversaw government affairs for Ciba-Geigy. John enjoyed many hobbies and traveling with his family.

John was predeceased by his first wife Virginia Tross Harvey, and by his parents Harry and Marian.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Claire Li Muli Harvey, his sister Margaret and her family; his son John H. Harvey Jr. (Kathleen); his granddaughter Sarah Ann Harvey (Luis ), greatgrandchildren Connor, and Mia; Johnny's sisters Ann and Christine and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws, all of whom were very special to him and he loved very much.

Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 1 from 2-5pm at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, Dec. 2 at 10:45am at the All Saints Chapel of St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, Burial will follow at Brig. Gen. W. C. Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ
