Obituary

It is with profound sadness that the Tuck family announces the passing of their beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, John T. "Jack" Tuck, who passed away peacefully at home on June 30, 2026, at the age of 93.

Born in Princeton, New Jersey, on November 5, 1932, John spent his early years in Princeton

before living in Ewing, Trenton and Mercerville. In 1996, he and his wife made Whiting their

home, where they enjoyed many happy years together.

John proudly served his country in the United States Army before attending Rider College. He

devoted more than 35 years to a career as an insurance auditor, first with New Jersey

Manufacturers Insurance Company and later with Vik Brothers Insurance.

A man of deep Catholic faith, John was a devoted parishioner of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton

Parish in Whiting and formerly of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Mercerville, where he was

active in Eucharistic Adoration. He also dedicated many years of service to the Mercerville

Lions Club, serving twice as president of the local club as well as in district leadership. John

found great joy in traveling the country with Theresa in their motor home, creating lasting

memories along the way. He was an avid fan of basketball and golf and a loyal Philadelphia

Eagles supporter who rarely missed cheering on his team. John will be remembered for his quick wit, warm smile, and wonderful sense of humor. He had a way of making those around him laugh, even during life's challenges, and his kindness, humility, and unwavering love for his

family left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Above all else, John cherished his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-

grandfather and brother whose guidance, generosity, and steady presence will be deeply missed.

John was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Jacqueline, in 1959, and by his loving parents,

George and Mary Ellen Tuck.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 69 years, Theresa (Grochala) Tuck; his children, Robert

and his wife Kieren of Canton, Georgia, William and his wife Brenda of Helena, Montana,

Barbara and her husband Matthew Howarth of Howell, New Jersey, and Jeffrey and his wife

Janice of Allentown, New Jersey; his cherished grandchildren, Erica, Veronica, Kristen,

Christopher, Timothy and Marcella; his beloved great-grandson, Asher; his sister, Mary Carter,

and her husband Harold; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 8:00

a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, New

Jersey. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:45 a.m. at All Saints Chapel at Saint

Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. Military honors and interment will

immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Animal Humane Society or the Mercerville Lions Club in John's memory.
