Joseph Dowd, 87, of Toms River, NJ, passed away Monday April 4, 2016 at Bergen Regional Medical Center in Paramus, NJ. Joseph was born in Brooklyn, NY. He lived in Beachwood, NJ for 25 years before moving to Toms River. He was a shipping clerk for Toms River Plumbing Supply and Trilco Building Supply for many years. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Joseph was predeceased by his beloved wife, Joan Dowd in 2015. He is survived by four children, Virginia Flynn and her husband, Arthur of Montvale, NJ, Kevin Dowd and his wife, Stacey of Clinton, CT, Laura Dowd of Chico, CA and Veronica Sullivan and her husband, Terence of Chico, CA; six grandchildren, Maureen Kratz, Matthew Flynn, Joseph Flynn, Sophia Dowd, Riley Sullivan and Isabella Dowd and one great-granddaughter, Maeve Kratz. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Friday, May 6th at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Inurnment will follow at the chapel.
