Obituary

Joseph J. Lennon, 85, of Whiting, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009 at the Van Dyke Hospice in Toms River. Mr. Lennon was born and raised in New York City and moved to Whiting in 1976. He owned and operated Curran Delicatessen, New York City for 25 years, retiring in 1976. Joseph was a US Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Joseph was predeceased by his wife, Frances E. in 2002; his brother, John in 2009 and his sister, Rose Carlson in 2006. He is survived by one sister, Celia Bacon of Bayside, NY. He was loved and will be missed. Visitation will be Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting, followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 11 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Mem. Cemetery, Arneytown. For further information go to www.manchestermemorial .net
