Katherine J. Vines, 88, of Whiting, passed away Monday, September 4, 2017 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born in Elizabeth, she lived in Dayton before moving to Whiting in 1998. Katherine was a payroll bookkeeper for the South Brunswick Board of Education for 10 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Red Hat Rebels of Whiting and the Crestwood Camera Club. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting and a member of the church's Adoration Society. Katherine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ellis Edward Vines in 1994 and her sister, Elise De Moss Johnson. She is survived by two children, Katherine A. Vines of Whiting and Edward Vines and his wife, Marilyn of Leonardo and two grandchildren, Elise Marie Elizabeth Vines and Claire Anne Payne. Visitation will be Thursday, September 7th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered on Friday, September 8th at 9:00 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park in South Brunswick.
