Kathryn Anita Slocum, 96, of Whiting, passed away Monday, January 2, 2017 at Whiting Healthcare Center. Born in Perth Amboy, she lived in Long Branch and Toms River before moving to Whiting. Kathryn was a Buyer for several Retail Stores in Monmouth County. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Whiting and was very involved with the ladies organizations at the church. Kathryn was predeceased by her husband, Elwood Slocum in 1956. She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Mason Dixon and her husband, Dudley and Carole Fins and her husband, Martin; her brother-in-law, Kenneth Schultz; 6 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. A Memorial Service will be held in the Spring at Christ Lutheran Church, Whiting. Arrangements are under the direction of Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, Whiting.
