Linda C. Cavanaugh, of Whiting, NJ, passed in the early morning of December 15, 2025, at Community Medical Center. Linda was born in Brooklyn, New York, to parents Elizabeth and Joseph DiCapua. She grew up in Brooklyn with her sister Joann. She and her husband moved to Jackson, NJ, in 1969 and, through the years, lived in Florida, Millstone, and Freehold, NJ, before settling in Whiting in 2009.

Before retiring, Linda loved her work as a library assistant at HC Johnson Elementary School. She also loved to decorate her home for every holiday. In her spare time, you could find her cheering on her favorite team, the Mets, or in her kitchen cooking or baking.

Linda is survived by her husband Dennis to whom she was married to for 59 years. Plus her four children, Ronald Cavanaugh, Kathleen (Joseph) Banfield, Lynn (Dave) Hatter, and Scott (Christen) Cavanaugh; and her seven grandchildren, Angelia, Tristan, Brandon, Daniella, Jackson, Logan, and Corinna.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, located at 28 Schoolhouse Road in Whiting, NJ. Mass will be offered on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 11:00 am at Old Tennent Church located at 448 Tennent Road, Manalapan Township, NJ. Burial will follow at Old Tennent Cemetery, located at 454 Tennent Road, Tennent, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Saint Jude Children's Hospital.
