Louis Walak, Jr., 70, of Whiting, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015 at home. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he lived there and in Long Island, NY before moving to Whiting in 1991. Louis was a custodian for the Brentwood School District in Long Island, NY and the Toms River School District in Toms River, NJ. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Louis is survived by his mother, Sophie Walak of Whiting; a brother, Thomas Walak of East Greenbush, NY; a sister, Diane Birdsall of East Greenbush, NY and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting follow by a funeral service at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at the All Saints Chapel Niche of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting.
