Obituary

Mai Le Hopkins, 79, of Toms River, NJ, was called Home on January 2, 2026 at Community Medical Center. Mai was born and raised in Saigon, Vietnam on April 11, 1946. She moved to the United States in 1970 and settled in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ before residing in Toms River in 2000.

Mai committed to being a homemaker, raising her two children in a loving home. She enjoyed going to Bingo and spending time with friends there.

Mai is predeceased by her husband David Hopkins who passed in 2013.

She is survived by her two children, Jacqueline Hopkins and her husband Oliver Walter, James (Jill) Hopkins; four grandchildren, Victoria Hopkins, Celeste Walter, Lara Walter and Scarlet Walter; her sister, Hue of Vietnam; and her two nieces and three nephews of Vietnam.

A viewing will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, located at 28 Schoolhouse Road in Whiting, NJ. Burial will immediately follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, located at 350 Province Line Road in Wrightstown, NJ.
