Obituary

Margaret L. Burns, 83, passed away on December 28, 2024. She was born in The Bronx to parents Anthony and Rose(Campion) Gatto. She grew up there and lived in Bayonne, NJ, for most of her life before settling in Whiting with her loving husband James in 2002.

Margaret was an avid crocheter, loved to tackle crossword puzzles, and enjoyed reading in her spare time. She loved the NY Mets, NY Jets, NJ Devils, and the Alabama Crimson Tide. She worked as a waitress for her whole life and ended her career at the Crestwood Family Restaurant in Whiting.

She is predeceased by her parents Anthony and Rose(Campion) Gatto; her first husband Buddy Wilson; her second husband James W. Burns; and her sister Sandy(Cookie) House.

She is survived by her sister; Lorraine Kucharski and her husband Teddy; her children: Christina Gregor (Gary), Anthony Wilson (Tammy), Renee Spagnolo (Leonard), Helen Toback (James), Lorraine Wilson, and Edward Wilson(Al Russo). She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

Visitation will be offered at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
