Margaret "Peggy" Reiss, 68, of Whiting, NJ passed away peacefully on the afternoon of July 14, 2026. Peggy was born in Jersey City, NJ to parents Daniel and Margaret Harrington. Peggy grew up in Bayonne, NJ and lived in various areas of Ocean County before deciding to reside in Whiting.

For over twenty-five years, Peggy worked as an administrative assistant for Bell Labs before she retired. She found joy in traveling to explore new places, but one of her favorite places to travel to was Disney, where she made many happy and cherished memories. Peggy had a special place in her heart for her pets, more specifically her cats. Above all, Peggy loved to spend time with her family and dear friends.

Peggy is deceased by her parents, Daniel (1974) and Margaret Harrington (2017).
She is survived by her son, Michael Reiss; her siblings and their spouses, Mary and Michael Higgins of Collegeville, PA, Daniel and Patricia Harrington of Christiansburg, Virginia, Kevin Harrington of Tuscon, AZ, and Martin and Kim Harrington of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 from 9:00 am to 10: 00 am at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, located at 28 Schoolhouse Road. A mass will be offered on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 10:45 am at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, located at 30 Schoolhouse Road. Inurnment will take place immediately after mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleum, located at 62 Cedar Grove Road, Toms River, NJ 08753.
