Margaret ("Peggy") E. Tenny (nee Cooke), age 91, of Whiting, passed away on October 21, 2018. Peggy was born to Joseph and Margaret Cooke in Paterson, NJ and raised in Boonton, NJ where she graduated from Boonton High School. After marrying her first husband, John Dunn, they settled in Paterson, NJ where they raised their seven children. For several years, she worked in the records department at the Paterson Police Department. She later enjoyed winters in Briny Breezes, FL while making her primary residence in Whiting, NJ with her husband, Ted Tenny. Peggy cherished her family, writing letters to her Australian pen pal of 75 years, and tending to her flower garden. She was predeceased by her twin brother, Thomas Cooke and her husbands, John Dunn, Frank Anderson and Hubert ("Ted") Tenny. Peggy is survived by her beloved children and their spouses, Kathy Wilkes (Fred May), James Dunn, Jeanne Dunn (Gary Seitz), Jack Dunn (Eleanor), Joseph Dunn (Pattie), Alice Dunn (Bill Resotko) and Michael Dunn (Elizabeth). She is also survived by three brothers, John, Joseph and Paul Cooke, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, December 1st at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Bay Head, NJ.
