Marian E Barz, 97, of Whiting, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011 at home. She was a communicant of Christ Evangelical Church, Whiting. She was a talented vocalist and taught singing for many years, and gave her musical talent to her church. She had a very strong faith. She was an extremely talented seamstress; including dressmaking, knitting, crocheting, and needlepoint. Marian was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred in 1997 and her son, Ronald in 2001. She is survived by her brother, Melvin Burnett of Whiting; her three sisters, Ruth Burnett and Mildred Burn, both of Whiting; Betty White of PA; and her granddaughter, Melissa, of Ashland, NH. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting. A Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Whiting Memorial Park, Whiting. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to Christ Evangelical Church, 300 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ 08759.
