Marion R. Ariemma, 100, of Whiting, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017 at her daughter's home. Born in Newburg, NY, she lived in West New York, NJ, Dumont, NJ, Whiting, NJ from 1978 to 2014, when she went to live with her daughter in Purcellville, VA. Marion was a Registered Nurse. She was a U.S. Navy Nurse Corps veteran during World War II. She worked at Bergen Pines County Hospital, Paramus, NJ for 10 years, retiring in 1978. Marion was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting where she was a Eucharistic Minister, Lecture and member of the church's Altar Rosary Society. She founded the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Nursing Service and Helping Hands. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of over 57 years, Nicholas J. Ariemma in 2004; her cherished sons, Martin Ariemma in 1989 and Joseph Ariemma in 2012 and her dear sister, Kathleen Staniewicz. She is survived by her loving children, Nicholas F. Ariemma of Westwood, NJ, Elizabeth Ariemma of Purcellville, VA and Margaret Luongo of Macon, NC; seven cherished grandchildren; seven cherished great-grandchildren and another great-grandchild on the way. Visitation will be Monday, April 17th from 3 to 7 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Tuesday, April 18th at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting.
