Michael J. Courtney, 79, of Whiting, New Jersey, passed away on October 28, 2023. He was born on August 15, 1944, in New York, NY to Michael and Anna Courtney. Mike was a long-time resident of Dumont before retiring to Ocean County.

An Air Force veteran, Mike had two distinct careers - one with TWA, and another as a Senior Probation Investigator for the Bergen County Criminal Division. He was a lifelong fan of the NY Giants and NY Yankees.

Mike is survived by his daughters Shannon (Marcus) Daubaras of Chicago and Erin Courtney of Englewood. Also surviving are his sister Rita (Tom) Maltese of Lodi, and sister-in-law Paula Courtney of Teaneck. He was the beloved "papa" of Hannah Daubaras. He is also survived by two nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Eddie Courtney of Teaneck.
