Michael MacDonnell, 71, passed away on March 22, 2026, in Whiting, New Jersey. Born on February 25, 1955 at St. Albans Naval Hospital in Queens, New York, he was the son of the late Dermott MacDonnell and Margaret (Noggle) MacDonnell.

He had a passion for space exploration and enjoyed a trip to Cape Canaveral with his sister Kathleen. He was an avid Trekkie; a highlight at a convention was meeting one of the cast. He relished going to air shows, including the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum each summer for their WW2 weekend, and the Westover MA Air Force base open house events.

Michael was predeceased by his parents, Dermott and Margaret MacDonnell, and his sister, Kathleen MacDonnell. He is survived by his loving sisters, Aline Holmes, Susan

MacDonnell, and Laurie MacDonnell-Gaulke as well as his cherished niece and nephews.

Cremation will be private.
