Michael Moran, 62, of Whiting, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2011. Born in the Bronx, NY, Michael lived in Howell before moving to Whiting in 2002. He was a food service manager for the Department of the Navy, Morale and Welfare Department at Earle Naval Weapons Depot in Colts Neck, NJ. Prior to that, he worked at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge for 5 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Navy for 13 years. Michael was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of the Pines Council #9852 and served as Grand Knight. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. He is survived by his wife Nancy; three children, Patrick, Michael and Erin Moran; three sisters, Sheila, Cathy and Bonnie and seven grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call form 7 to 9 p.m. on Thurday evening, January 5th and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Friday morning, January 6th at the Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Entombment will be at Atlantic View Cemetery in Wall Township, NJ.
