Mildred L. Ritter, 97, of Whiting, passed away Monday, December 15, 2014 at the Pines at Whiting, Manchester. Born in Newark, she lived in Point Pleasant before moving to Whiting in 2000. She was a switchboard operator at Britt's Department Store in Brick for 12 years, retiring in 1989. Mildred was predeceased by her husband, Fred Ritter in 1984; her son, Fred Ritter, Jr. in 1988 and her brother, Raymond I. Langer in 2012. She is survived by her nephew and niece, Leo and Delores Langer; one great-niece and great-nephew, Veronica Matthews and Christopher Langer; and two great-great-nephews, Emerson and Quentin Matthews. Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 17th from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting. Entombment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River, NJ.
