M.C. "Scoop" Ferrin, 82, of Whiting, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Whiting Healthcare Center. He was born and raised in East Rochester, NY where he completed High School. Scoop actively served in the US Navy for 23 years. Post retirement, he continued service to the Federal Government, where his duties included CTC for the NSA. He also attended the University of Maryland. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; one son, Michael Ferrin and his wife, Marge; one daughter, Martha Zavras and her husband, Gary; four grandchildren, Jay, Jenna, Ryan and Nicholas; several brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 9 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 10th at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
