Nancy E. Ortiz passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 27th, 2023, at the age of 73 in Whiting, NJ. Born in Staten Island, N.Y. to Alice and Lee Wonderly, she then relocated to Connecticut for many years. Throughout her life she worked as an LPN but transitioned to the medical insurance industry before retiring at the age of 62.

Nancy loved her family and kept it at the center of her world and heart. She was very involved in the church and was accepted and in the process of studying to become a Carmelite at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Making Rosary's, her own jewelry, volunteering at Mother Seton's Cellar once a week, studying theology, gardening, creating a warm and inviting place to live, and spending time with her cat Fidgit, were a few of the things that made our Mom happy.

Her late husband David was sent to her later in life but filled her heart with love until his passing in 2019. She kept him near her in her heart until the day of her own passing. Our family will miss her smile, the way she could tell you stories, animated, with all the details, her silly sense of humor, and everything about her, dearly.

She is survived by her daughters, Kari Vecchitto of Cromwell CT, Gini Principe and husband, Joseph of Hainesport NJ; sons, William Stange and his wife, Samantha of St. Charles, MN, and David Ortiz of Bristol, PA. She also had 10 grandchildren, Joseph and Nicholas Principe, Hannah and Calvin Vecchitto, Katelyn, Danielle and David Ortiz, Avery, Hudson and Caleb Stange.
