Neil F. O'Connell, 92, of Whiting, formerly of Fort Lee and then Toms River, passed away on Wednesday, January 09, 2013 at home after a long illness. He was born in Kenvil, NJ, on May 6, 1920, and resided in Mine Hill prior to World War II. He then proudly served in the U.S. Navy. Neil attended St. Mary's School, Wharton, NJ and graduated from Dover High School. He received a bachelor's degree from Fordham University. He spent most of his business career with the firm of Haskins & Sells, now Deloitte & Touche. Neil was predeceased by his sister, Aileen. He will be missed by his surviving brother, Thomas, his five nieces, great nephew, Jesse and great niece Lori. Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 14th from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, Jan. 15th at 9 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Wharton, NJ.
