Philomena Mavaro, 73, of Whiting, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she lived on Staten Island, NY before moving to Whiting in 2002. She was a homemaker and a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Philomena is survived by her husband, Salvatore; four children, Salvatore Mavaro of Westfield, Antoinette Conway of Old Bridge, Lisa Osborne of Westfield and Lillian Mavaro of Westfield; three sisters, MaryAnn, Carmela and Emily and four grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Saturday, Dec. 29th at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ.
