Richard N. Carroll, 88, of Whiting, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013 at The Pines at Whiting. Born in Norfolk, VA, he lived in Virginia Beach, VA, Ship Bottom, NJ and Mahwah, NJ before moving to Whiting. Richard was a professional mechanical engineer for NY Bell Telephone and Verizon. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Maria Miraglia in 2010. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joan; three children, Christine Miraglia of Mount Holly, Richard N. Carroll, III of Allentown and Allison Mitchell of Raleigh, NC and five grandchildren. Services are pending.
