Richard A.
Conley
June 8, 1946 – April 28, 2025
Richard Arden Conley, 78, of Whiting, NJ, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025.
Born in New Brunswick, NJ, Richard was the son of the late Mary Lenetti and Harold Arden Conley. He resided throughout the state of New Jersey, including Highland Park, Iselin, East Windsor, and finally Whiting.
A proud retired member of the Rutgers Mounted Police, and a US Navy veteran, Richard dedicated his life to service and community. Known for his gentle nature and generous heart, he lived a full, eventful life.
Richard was a man of many passions. He was an avid sailor who found peace on the water, a skilled drummer with a deep love for rhythm, and a proud gun collector who appreciated craftsmanship and history. He was a devoted pet owner, throughout his life. Perhaps most uniquely, he even owned a pet duck at a young age, which is a testament to his gentle and humorous spirit.
Above all, Richard was a family man. He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; his children, Michele (Carol) Thomas of Old Bridge, NJ, Melissa Conley of Edison, NJ, Michael Arden (Rebecca) Conley of New Hope, PA; his stepchildren, Anthony (Toni Marie) Toscano of Nutley, NJ, James (Monica) Toscano of Manalapan, NJ; and his cherished grandchildren, Brittney (Andrew) Allgauer, Alexander Arden Conley, Olivia Conley, Samantha Toscano, Aidan Toscano, and Joseph Toscano. His love for his family was as unwavering as his sense of duty.
He will be remembered for his hilarious grumpiness, warm smile, and for all the cars he "used to have."
A mass will take place at 10:45 on Monday, May 12th at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road Whiting, NJ; followed by internment in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road Wrightstown, NJ.
