Richard V. Foley, 89, of Whiting, passed away Tuesday, November 08, 2011 at Manchester Manor Nursing Home. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Whiting in 1987. Richard was a New York City Police Officer for 20 years and worked for Ma Bell, NY for 18 years, retiring in 1985. He was a U.S. Air Force radio operator and gunner during World War II. He was an avid golfer and champion ping pong player at Crestwood Village V.
He was predeceased by his wife, Helen in 2009. Surviving are many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be offered at 10:45 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 12th at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Disabled American Veterans P.O. Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 Attn: Gift Processing would be appreciated. Arrangements are under the direction of Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting.
