Richard J. Long, Sr., 86, of Whiting, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Richard was born in Philadelphia, PA. He worked for the U.S. Government as a supply officer at Fort Monmouth, NJ. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. Richard was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Richard was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Anne G. Long in 2012, his daughter, Joan House and two sons, Guy and Mark Long. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Douglas Earle of Seaside Park, NJ; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard J., Jr. and Mary Long of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Michael and Michele Long of Great Falls, MT; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Monday, June 25th at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting.
