Rita M. Garry, 92, of Whiting, passed away on October 16, 2024. She was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late William and Jennie Conk Mahoney. During retirement, she split her time between Leisuretowne, NJ, Bradenton, FL, and Crestwood Manor NJ. Rita enjoyed performing in shows and parades with her husband and friends. Besides spending time with her family, Rita's pastimes included: bocce, bingo, mahjong, card games, and Texas holdem.

Rita is predeceased by her husband, Steve J. Garry, Sr., and siblings, William "Buddy" Mahoney, Barbara, and Jerald. Surviving are her loving children, Kathy Garry, Patti Fritz and her husband Jim, Marianne Staszkiw, Steve J. Garry Jr. and Chris Zabler, her beloved grandchildren, Nicholas Fritz and his wife Mary, Daniel Fritz, Janelle "Jane" and her husband Dustin Bauknight, Andrew Staszkiw and Alyssa Hamilton, Jennifer McGuire Ireland and her husband Kelly, and her cherished great-grandchildren, Rita and Phoebe Fritz, Everett, Laurel, and Alden Bauknight and Greydon and Emily Ireland. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Manchester Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, from 9 – 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:45 a.m. at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in Rita's memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
