Robert Michael Gorun Sr. of Whiting, formerly of Clifton, NJ, caring father and loving husband, died peacefully at home on Saturday June 26, 2010. He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Rose Gorun and his sisters, Elvira Gremsperger and Marianna Labarbera. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Diane LiSanti Gorun, his brother and sister in law, Ronald and Charlotte Gorun; his son and daughter in law, Robert Jr. and Kathleen Gorun; His daughter and son in law, Nancy and Erwin Mehlig; 5 grandchildren, Andrew, Nicholas, and Kevin Mehlig; Abigail Gorun and Jennifer Mehlig; as well as many nieces and nephews. Robert was a graduate of Bloomfield College with a Bachelors Degree in Materials Management and employed for 46 years with Bendix/Allied Signal/Honeywell Test Systems Division and a Member of APICS. In his youth he enjoyed being a member and Master Sargeant of the Clifton High School Mustang Band. Later he and his wife became avid Square Dancers and Presidents of Cross Trail Square Dance Club. He loved to Travel, Camp, and takes Cruises with friends and family. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 9am to 10:45am at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home 28 Schoolhouse Rd Whiting, NJ. A funeral Liturgy will be Thursday at 11am from the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church 30 Schoolhouse Rd. Whiting, NJ.
