Robert William Hughes, 75, of Whiting passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012 at home. He was born and raised in Jersey City and lived in Beachwood before moving to Whiting in 2004. Bob played high school football. He was a strong and dedicated worker for many years, retiring in 1998. He was an avid NY Giants fan. Bob was predeceased by his wife, Martha in 1993; his daughter, Kathleen in 1997; his parents and all of his siblings. He is survived by his very close friends, Malcolm Kalkhoven of Whiting and Cate Kalkhoven-Chrostowski of Wall. Arrangements are under the direction of Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, Whiting.
