Robert James, 64, of Whiting passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023 at home. Born in Lakewood, he grew up in Toms River. Bob was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Toms River, NJ. He lived in Lavallette, NJ and Summerfield, FL before settling in Whiting, NJ two years ago. Mr. James was a chef since 1977, and worked at Krone's in Lavallette, NJ and most recently at the Holiday Inn, Toms River, NJ. He loved cooking, kayaking, and biking. Bob was pre-deceased by his parents Albert Sr. and Antonette James. He is survived by his wife, Colleen; his daughter, Alyssa James of Warrensburg, MO; his step-children, Glenn Brummer of Brick, NJ, Robert Brummer and his wife Kristin of Newark, NJ, Brianne Greene and her husband Patrick of Raleigh, NC, and Lance Brummer of Asbury Park, NJ; three grandchildren, Robert, Adelynn, and Grayson; his siblings, Bert James and his wife Terri of Brigantine, NJ, and Elaine Johnstone and her husband Gary of Jackson, NJ; nephew Christopher Johnstone, and his wife Chantel of Point Pleasent, NJ, Thomas Johnstone and wife Renee of Highlands, NJ with many great nieces and nephews. Services were private under the direction of Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. Events Details are pending.
