Roseann T. Stringer, 91, of Whiting, NJ, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025. Roseann was born on March 25, 1934, in Paterson, NJ to her parents William and Anna Dowling.

Roseann lived in Paterson and West Paterson for most of her life with her husband, James Stringer, as well as her three children.

Roseann was a graduate from St. Joseph's School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Paterson for sixteen years. She continued to care for others while working at St. Vincent Hospital in Cedar Grove, Little Sisters of the Poor Nursing Home in Paterson and various doctors' offices, before her retirement in 1996.

Roseann and her husband resided at the Pine Ridge at Crestwood in Whiting in 1998. Retirement did not slow her down as she was a member of various organizations that focused on helping others. She was a member of the Busy Bees of Lakeshore Lodge, the Social Club, the Residents Club of Pine Ridge and St. Joseph's Hospital Alumni Association. Roseann also spent her time volunteering for Someone Cares in Whiting.

She was very involved with her church as well. Roseann was a parishioner at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church as well as one of the parish nurses.

Roseann is predeceased by her loving husband James; daughter Susan Wilson; and brothers Robert and William Dowling.

She is survived by her children Maureen VanHine and James W. Stringer and his wife Jill; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
