Ruth H. Luhowy, 96, of Haskell and formerly of Whiting, passed away on Saturday January 15, 2022, at home. Born in Germany she lived in Newark and Bloomfield before moving to Crestwood Village V in Whiting. Prior to retiring, she was a seamstress at Hahne's Department Store in Newark. Mrs. Luhowy enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and she liked to donate those items to Saint Ann Seton RC Church, where she was a parishioner. Predeceased by her husband Miron and her sister, Hanni Dietzler, she is survived by her daughter Kathy Hack and her husband Andrew of West Milford; her grandchildren, Francesco DiPaolo and his wife Melina of Mount Ephraim, and Chris DiPaolo of Haskell. Visitation will be Thursday, January 20, 2022, from 10am to 12 noon at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Blessing will be offered at noon, and interment will follow at Whiting Memorial Park, Whiting.
