Obituary

Susan Jane Willmott born November 28, 1942, in Sayre, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024, in Toms River, New Jersey, after several years battling Alzheimer's. Susan lived in Chemung, New York, while acquiring her nursing degree from St. Joseph's Hospital in Elmira, New York, prior to settling down in Toms River, New Jersey. Susan pursued and obtained her critical care registered nurse's certification at Georgian Court College, Lakewood, New Jersey. She pursued her career at Point Pleasant, Bricktown and Paul Kimball Hospitals where she served in the capacity as the Director of Nursing for the Intensive Care and Coronary Care Units for at least thirty years, and retired from her distinguished career in 2007. While working full time in nursing, she raised her two sons, Richard and Paul. She continued her educational pursuits by earning a Law Degree from Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1993, also while working full time.

Susan is predeceased by her parents, New York State Trooper Richard Hedges and Jane Lynch Gunderman of Chemung, New York. She is survived by her husband, Richard Willmott; her brother, John Hedges; two sons, Richard McGinley and Paul McGinley, and Pauls' wife, Sheryl McGinley; and step-daughter Danielle Willmott. Additionally, Susan leaves behind four grandchildren, Richard, Caitlyn, Nicholas and Alyssa; two nieces, Tara and Julie, and Julie's husband, Scott, and their children. Susan was dearly respected and loved by everyone who knew her.
