Vincent E.
Rapacciuolo
October 8, 1941 – April 15, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce Vincent (Vinny) E. Rapacciuolo passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025 at the age of 83. He was born in Brooklyn, New York to parents Ralph and Anna Rapacciuolo. He proudly served in the US Army before he married the love of his life, Amelia, in 1969, and they lived together on Staten Island for almost 50 years. He worked for the New York State Insurance Department as an Auditor for over 30 years before retiring. In 2018, Vinny and Amelia settled in Whiting, New Jersey.
While raising their growing family on Staten Island, he was very involved with his church, St. Clare's, where he volunteered as a basketball and soccer coach and athletic director for many years. He also officiated in track meets at Monsignor Farrell High School. He was a proud volunteer with the St. Vincent de Paul society. He showed his love by cooking family feasts that included favorites such as his legendary crab sauce and his Easter bread that have been passed on to future generations.
After retirement he spent more time fishing and especially enjoyed taking grandchildren along. In his spare time Vinny enjoyed competing with his children in sports pools, meeting every dog in the park and playing Sudoku. Other pastimes included watching western movies, watching the Incredible Dr. Pol and rooting for the Yankees, Rangers, Giants and whoever was playing against the Mets. Vinny also had a fiercely competitive spirit where he was a force to be reckoned with on the bocce court or when playing card games like spades. He was an avid swimmer at America's Keswick.
Vincent is survived by his beloved wife, Amelia; his children Ann Marie Rapacciuolo, Vincent and his wife Meghan, John and his wife Nadia, Mary Staiewicz and her husband Paul, and Anthony (AJ) and his wife Kymberly; his grandchildren Vivian, Ashley, Vincent, Zachary, Grace, Dmitry, Nicholas, Vincenzo, Evan, Cara, Alexis and Daniel; and his sisters Maryanne Vislocky and Theresa Painchaud.
