Virginia
Cavallo
February 11, 2025 – January 23, 2026
Virginia M. Cavallo, 85, of Whiting, New Jersey passed away surrounded by loved ones on the morning of January 23, 2026, at The Orchards in Jackson, New Jersey. Virginia was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, growing up on Coney Island where she met and eventually married her husband, Thomas G. Cavallo. The couple moved to Centereach, Long Island, where they began to grow and raise their family, and later relocated to the sunny Port St. Lucie, Florida. The pair then moved to Jackson, New Jersey, to be closer with their grandchildren and family, and eventually settled in Whiting, residing in their home for over twenty years.
Virginia had a passion for decorating and home furnishing, working as an interior designer for Ethan Allen Corporation in Lake Grove, New York for thirty years before her retirement in 1999. She was an avid crafter, beloved creative, and helping hand for all who looked to her. Virginia was witty and sharp, quick with a comment and a wink to follow. She spent her time enjoying activities like her crosswords, bingo, reading, puzzles, knitting, and watching mystery programs like Murder, She Wrote.
Virginia absolutely adored her nine grandchildren, making every effort to be involved in their lives. Whether at the theatre, on the field, or simply sitting for a conversation across the table, she remained a constant presence and strong support to all her family. Virginia was also a dedicated Catholic and parishioner at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, and loved taking part in her church community. Music was incredibly important to Virginia, making an effort to incorporate it throughout her own life, and the lives of her children and grandchildren. Her song sings on through them.
Virginia is predeceased by her husband, Thomas (2019) and her younger brother Carlo (1964).
She is survived by her sister Angela Malliae, children Thomas J. (Heather) Cavallo, Christopher (Donna) Cavallo, Carla Cavallo, and her grandchildren, Julianna, Sophia, Victoria, Thomas, Isabella, Christopher, Ava, Eliana, and Amaris.
A mass will be offered on February 2, 2026 at 10:45am at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton
