Obituary

Virginia Mangieri, 91, of Whiting, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center in Hamilton, NJ. Virginia was born in New York City, NY and lived in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Whiting in 1986. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union #40, New York City for 45 years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of the Columbiettes, Brooklyn, NY and a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting and a member of the church's Altar Rosary Society. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Thomas; one daughter, Denise DiCarlo of Princeton Junction and one sister, Jean Maragni of Staten Island, NY. Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., today, March 27 and from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, March 28 at the Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 9 a.m., Tuesday, March 29 at the All Saints Chapel of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Interment will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 2550 US Highway 1, N. Brunswick, NJ 08902-4301.
