Walter J. Smolski, 90, of Whiting, passed away on Saturday, July 4th, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born and raised in Elizabeth, and moved to Whiting in 1992. Mr. Smolski was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Mr. Smolski was predeceased by his wife Ann in 1992, and a daughter Ann Marie Fahner in 1997. He is survived by his brother Steven Smolsky and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 9th, at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home 28 Schoolhouse Rd, Whiting. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday, July 10th, at the All Saints Chapel at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting. Entombment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
