William S. Chester (90), of Lakewood, NJ died peacefully at home on July 25, 2023. Bill was born to Saul and Ruth Chester on January 29, 1933. He was raised in Paterson, NJ with his brother Elliot, who died in 1971. After graduating he married his high school sweetheart, Roberta who predeceased him in 2011. He served two years in the US Army and went on to graduate from Tulane University with a degree in architecture. He held many interesting positions in college that he was very proud to share. He was managing partner in the firm, DCS Architecture. During his working life he served as director of United Jersey bank, director of the Lakewood chamber of commerce; for over 12 years, he served as president of the Lakewood YMCA. He started a microfilm company, MCS and served as president and his wife was the managing partner.

He is survived by his three children; Niki Rose Chester (Susan Eggert), Marc Chester (Sharon Chester) and Susan F. Chester; six grandchildren, Elliot, Emily, Evan, Zachary, Alexa and Cory, and one great grandson Saul.

Bill will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
