William J. Leahy Sr., 89, of Whiting passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Jersey City, he grew up in Union City and lived in Woodbridge for over 35 years before settling in Whiting in 2010. A US Army Veteran, Mr. Leahy was a truck driver and later Traffic Manager for White Rose, Secaucus, for over 25 years until his retirement in 1995. He was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church, Whiting. Mr. Leahy is predeceased by his parents, John and Margaret Leahy, and by his siblings, John, Joan Blasko, Ruth Daletto, and Arlene Colson. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children, Kathleen Leon of Cornelius , NC Patricia Daugherty and her husband John of Parlin, and William J. Leahy, Jr of East Brunswick; and his grandson, Diego Leon of Hollywood, FL. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 9am to 10:30am at Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:45am at the All Saints Chapel of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church, 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ.
