William J. Ur (Bill), age 76, of Whiting, New Jersey, passed away at Community Medical Hospital in Toms River, New Jersey on June 15, 2022. Born in Newark, New Jersey, he lived in Union, New Jersey, before moving to Whiting, where he happily lived for 25 years with his late beloved parents. Bill was a Veteran of the United States Army, and a retiree of the United States Postal Service after 40 years of service. Bill enjoyed watching sports, telling jokes - laughing right alongside others, and games, trying his luck at lotto and the casino. And he was pretty lucky. In his earlier years, he enjoyed playing basketball, fishing, golf, etc. often with family. Predeceased by his father, Joseph Ur Sr.; his mother, Dorothy Ur (Toncic); his brother, Joseph Ur Jr; and his sister, Mary Frey (Ur). He is survived by his sisters, Vera Apgar (Ur), Eleanor Nagy (Ur) and Phyllis Manziano; his brothers, Daniel Ur; Robert Ur; and Thomas Ur; and 18 nieces and nephews. A memorial service and celebration of life is planned for Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 11 am at the Hollywood Memorial Park and Cemetery.
